Please bring layers to be prepared for indoors and outdoors.
Some of our activities will be outdoors.
Dress is casual.

Please leave valuables at home.
Rooms lock only when you are in them.
We are not responsible for valuables.

Bedding is provided.
Roommates are assigned unless request was made at registration.
Please note, headphones, ear plugs and breathe right strips are strongly
encouraged for all guests so everyone may sleep soundly through the night.

CLOTHES:
  • Raincoat
  • Warm coat
  • Sweater or Sweatshirt
  • Comfortable Shoes (Hiking or Running Shoes if you like)
  • 3 Pairs of Socks
  • 3 Days of Undergarments
  • 2 Pants
  • 3 T-shirts
  • 2 Over shirts
  • Hat
  • Scarf
  • Gloves
  • Pajamas
  • Robe
  • Slippers
  • Swimsuit
  • Sweat suit

TOILETRIES:
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Bar of soap
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect Repellent
  • Prescribed or over the counter medication as needed
  • Any other personal items

OTHER:
  • Flashlight
  • Ear plugs
  • Breathe Easy Strips if you are a music maker whilst you sleep
  • Alarm Clock
  • Pens
  • Insect Repellent
  • Camera (Optional)

MEALS:
Meals are served family style and accommodations are made based on requests
made at time of registration. Healthy snacks are provided throughout the
weekend but If you have a particular need please bring snacks with you. Ice is
available.

ALCOHOL:
Alcohol is not available at the conference and is prohibited in accordance with
American Friends Service Committee Policies. We ask that people refrain from
use in order to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

SMOKING:
Smoking is prohibited in buildings for the health and safety of all guests and
staff. Outdoor ashtrays are available for disposal of cigarette butts. Please allow
access to doors and walkways so folks do not have to walk through smoke to get
in and out of buildings.

CELL PHONES:
We understand people need to be reached in case of emergency. For the
duration of the Collaborative please keep cell phones on vibrate and refrain
from engaging in calls while in public locations. Whenever possible, use your
room or rooms not utilized to conduct conversations. We appreciate your
sensitivity to minimize distractions or interruptions for participants as folks use
this time to get away.

VENDING MACHINES:
Pop and candy machines are located in the lobby of the Administration Building,
lower level of the Conservation Education Building and the back porch of the
Straits Dormitory.

COMMUNITY SPACE:
Fireplace Lounge is located in the Administration Building. It is a multipurpose
room and is furnished with comfortable upholstered couches and chairs. Videos
and books are available for loan over the weekend by AFSC. Please connect
with Khristian Speelman to check-out. Art supplies are also available for use.

ACCESSIBILITY:
Barrier free rest rooms are available in the Straits, Fireplace Lounge. Path to
beach is also accessible.

QUIET HOURS:
Lights Out & Quiet Hours 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY:
Contact 911 immediately, then Collaborative Coordinator, Heather Grace 248-
250-1557 and then Conference Center Staff.

EMERGENCY CONTACT:
All participants will be asked to provide address, phone and e-mail of an
emergency contact of someone not attending the Collaborative as well as any
indication of potential issues. Information will not be shared during the
Collaborative except amongst staff as needed and will be destroyed at the
conclusion of the Collaborative.
